What are agent skills?

An agent skill is an installable file (typically a SKILL.md in a known directory, following Anthropic’s skills format) that gives an AI agent a reusable capability: the process, the domain knowledge, and the conventions for one kind of task. When the task comes up, the agent loads the skill instead of re-deriving how to do the work from scratch.

For marketing, skills are how expertise becomes an artifact. A positioning process, a page audit rubric, or a loop-building recipe can be written once, installed in any project, and versioned like code. That also makes skills distributable: a skill can be published, licensed, and installed by someone else’s agent in one command, which turns marketing know-how into something closer to software than to advice.
