What is agentic marketing?

Agentic marketing is marketing work executed by AI agents rather than by humans using AI as a writing assistant. The distinction matches the one Anthropic draws between workflows and agents: an agent directs its own process. An agent plans a multi-step task, uses tools (a browser, a CMS, an email platform, analytics), checks its own output against a goal, and repeats until the goal is met. The human sets the goal and approves the result instead of performing each step.

The distinction that matters: a chatbot drafts a post when prompted; an agent runs the whole content pipeline, from reading sources to publishing behind an approval gate. The craft is in designing the goals, the verification, and the human gates, not in prompting each step.
